Cougars Care is Coronado's way of helping our community. We partner with our students to make sure that no student is exempted from any part of their education based on tangible needs.

Important Updates:

Harvest of Love:

The Harvest of Love event, organized by Cougars Care, is an annual food drive that collects donations to support local families in need. It aims to provide essential food items during the holiday season, helping ensure no family in the community goes hungry.

Corner Market Opening:

The corner market is officially open! Check out room 160 (In between the world language classes and the future center).

Number of homeless public school students on the rise in Colorado and El Paso CountyAfter falling during the COVID-19 pandemic, the numbers of El Paso County and Colorado students sleeping in shelters, motels, transitional housing, tents, cars or “doubled up” with relatives or friends

Clothing Exchange:

- - On October 7, Cougars Care will be hosting a Clothing Exchange to increase access to clothes in underserved communities. The clothing exchange will always be free of charge and open to all members of the community. Check our calendar below to see more about the clothing exchange.

Cougars Care Highlights

2 decades of longevity
Over 400 students receive clothing in each of our clothing exchanges
We distribute over 100 boxes of food to families for Thanksgiving
Student Led Board of Directors
We established a class called Leadership for Non-Profits that leads to Social Impact Certification
We contribute over $2500 in scholarships to graduating seniors each year
We provide over a dozen caps and gowns for Coronado graduates
We provide over 100 backpacks with school supplies to students at Coronado each year
We provide $2000 worth of snacks to students to combat hunger each year
Supported students with over $1000 in class fees and field trip fees
Over 300 volunteers (mostly students) helped to make all this possible
